The Shape Night Run was my last race for the next six weeks, and in conjunction with Ramadan i decided to take running break to rest my feet. My feet had endured enough miles and races for the half of the year - four Half Marathons and four short races of 10km-15km later, i’m still none the wiser in terms of running. The Plantar Fasciitis injuries still there and need my loving attentions, although it’s not as bad as in the beginning. The heel cups did its job in eliminating the pains while running, but the after effects still bugging me. Hopefully my feet will be fully recovered and rested for the second half of the year’s races, i really need to kick some ass for the coming Genting Trailblazer..he he.
Went for lunch at KLCC yesterday with and old friend, afterwards i decided to stop by Kinokuniya to stock up on light reading materials for my coming running hibernation. Libraries and book stores are my favourites place to hang out, i could spends hours in there mesmerizing by the knowledge embedded in all the wonderful books. Sometimes. I really felt that I had too little time to read all of these books. I bought a few books and a running magazine, should be enough to satisfy my hunger for running; if i could not run physically then at least i could run emotionally and mentally during these period.
One of the books is the famously written by Dean Karnezes, the “Ultra Marathon Man”. Ironic enough, i had a dream few nights back; i was running an Ultra Marathon somewhere. Come to think of it, it’s more like a nightmare than a dream! NO i’m not planning to run an Ultra or even THINK about doing it, i’ll settle for the satisfaction of completing a FULL MARATHON any day. Okay i’m gonna hit those books now, good luck running and racing to all of you beautiful peeps out here. Hibernation mode here i come :)
You caught the ultra bug. No doubt. Have a great rest (me too, don't worry) and let's come back with a vengeance selepas lebaran!

Hi RaYzeef. Nothing wrong with running hibernation. After my vacation in November, I'll be shutting it down for the rest of the year. Definitely great to "let the batteries recharge." With Ramadan, it's very important. Also with plantar faciitis, that's nothing to mess with.
ReplyDeleteYour blog is awesome. Please take care and keep it up. Yours is one of my favorites. Will talk with you soon!
