It was second day of aidilfitri and i was at missus hometown in Taiping. What better way to celebrate the day than a good run, so there was i at the starting point besides the Padang Esplanate at 6.00 am in the morning.
It was a free to register run, the 18.5 km Taiping Raya Run was organised by Kevin Ooi and Taiping Road Runner Club.
There about 50 plus runners that morning, i finally had the chance to meet up in person CAR chief, mr. Ramlan a.k.a. KR (Ketua Reban) and Wan (Doc JJ Husband). There were many outstation runners that day including KK from KL.
The run started few minutes after 6 am and immediately we were served with three killer hills, i started running side by side with Wan, KR started the run in a blistering pace. Near at the top of the 3rd hill, i was kaput and ask wan to proceed. What do you expect after an absent of a month long training runs.
I completed the run in 2:30 hours after added few km due to running sesat of course, in the end i completed about a HM distance, not my initial plan though. Look like i really need to intensify my trainings as i lack stamina and endurance for this race, the newton run a.k.a. Sock run will be the next challenge, thankfully i registered the 12 km run:)
