Finally i ran Seremban! And it was an impromptu decision after lambong-ed by Amsyah the Avatar.
The day before (Saturday), i ran 42km LSD at the usual Bt. Aman – Hartamas route, lunched with KA and then went to Shape Night Run as photographer for the G’s.
It’s quite an opposite experience, when seeing your friends running and you’re not! But somehow i enjoyed to be on side line supporting them as photographer with Izuan.
I haven't done a HM in a very long time, the last one was CICM HM last Nov. This was my first Half Marathon for the year, plus my maiden Seremban HM. Overall it my 12th Half Marathon to date.
The road trip started at 4 a.m. from my place, Amsyah, Izuan, Azu and i took an hour ride in the Exora Express to Seremban. Road trip is always the best, you do not need to book accommodation before hand.
The run started at 6:30 am, enough time for Subuh prayer at nearby Mosque. I don't really expect anything since i haven’t done HM since last year.

As always, it’s always good to have an objective or race’s target. I decided to try for a sub-2 finish, i know it's a tall order since i am recovering from 42km LSD a day before.
The weather was nice and cooling that morning, light rains did help us runners to have the perfect weather for a race.
I started slow but somehow end up with 5:19 pace the first 2 km. I decided to run a smart race and opted for my usual ultra pace - short stride but faster cadence as i don't have the stamina to do Gung Ho running style. It works, saved a lot of my energy and somehow i managed to maintained that desired pace.
Although the route was littered with rolling hills but i loved it, never thought in a million years i would ever love running hills, Seremban Half Marathon is an exception.
Izuan was pacing me the first 10km and he's doing great, after that he slowed down a bit as i quickened my pace. Assessing my situations at the time, i felt really great, the legs was warmed up quite nicely, i decided to chase and overtake runners in front one by one.
The strategy works, i ended up with new PB 1:53 at position no. 33 Junior Veteran Category. The limited Selangor Pewter medal was secured at my first try, this old goat still have a few speed left in him :)

Congrats! :)
